aImmigration DNA Testing in Miami
Immigration DNA Testing for Miami & Doral Families
When documentary evidence alone isn’t enough to establish a biological relationship for a visa or immigration application, immigration DNA testing provides the verification U.S. authorities require. At Fastest Labs of West Miami, we use facilities that are accredited by AABB to conduct legal, chain of custody testing. With more than 10 years of experience in the industry, we’ve helped many individuals prove their relationship with a parent, grandparent, sibling, or other relative already living in the U.S.
Miami’s large international community means this is a service our team handles regularly. We know the steps, the documentation requirements, and how much is riding on getting it right.

Why Miami Families Choose Fastest Labs of West Miami
Immigration cases are time-sensitive, and the last thing you need is a long wait or an unclear process. We keep wait times under five minutes for most clients, accept walk-ins for same-day testing, and price our services affordably so cost doesn’t become another obstacle.
Every sample is collected by certified collectors following strict procedures for accuracy, confidentiality, and proper documentation. We use facilities that are accredited by AABB to conduct legal, chain of custody testing so results are accepted by USCIS and U.S. embassies for immigration cases. General DNA results are often available within 1 to 3 days, though immigration cases may require additional time due to documentation and verification steps.
How the Immigration DNA Testing Process Works
Immigration DNA testing involves two parties: the petitioner (the U.S.-based relative) and the visa applicant (the family member abroad). Both must complete their collection steps for the process to move forward.
For the Petitioner in the U.S.
The petitioner makes an appointment at our facility and provides a DNA sample via cheek swab. That sample is sent to a AABB-accredited testing laboratory partner for analysis that we partner with. The petitioner shouldn’t directly receive or handle the test kit. Our certified collectors manage the sample from collection through submission.
For the Visa Applicant Abroad
Once the petitioner’s sample is submitted, the visa applicant is prompted to schedule an appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate for their own collection. The visa applicant must pay the required fee before the appointment and bring the payment receipt. Arriving without it can result in the appointment being rescheduled. At the appointment, the visa applicant must present a passport, a valid photo ID, and the DNA test payment receipt. A cheek swab is then collected and witnessed by embassy officials to ensure test integrity.
After Collection
The visa applicant’s sample is sent to Fastest Labs of West Miami in the U.S. for analysis. Once results are available, the visa applicant can proceed with the next steps in the immigration application. Adult participants must provide a copy of a valid government-issued photo ID. For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign on their behalf.

Which Relationships Can Be Verified & When Testing Is Used
Immigration DNA testing can verify several types of biological relationships depending on the parties involved in the immigration case. Commonly tested relationships include paternity, maternity, full siblingship, and half siblingship. The appropriate test depends on which family members are available and what the immigration petition requires.
When immigration DNA testing comes into play:
- Family-based visa petitions where documentary proof of the claimed biological relationship is insufficient or unavailable
- Citizenship applications based on a biological parent when documents can’t fully establish the relationship
- USCIS Requests for Evidence or Notices of Intent to Deny that suggest DNA testing when submitted documentation doesn’t meet the evidentiary standard
Immigration DNA testing is entirely voluntary. Choosing to submit to testing doesn’t guarantee a visa will be issued. For paternity or maternity cases, consular officers generally require test results showing 99.5 percent or greater certainty of a biological relationship to support the visa application.
