DOT Alcohol Testing in Mobile
More Than a Decade of Efficient, Compliant DOT Alcohol Testing
When a safety-sensitive employee needs alcohol testing, timing, documentation, confidentiality, and procedural accuracy all matter. We provide Federal DOT Breath Alcohol Testing for random selection, reasonable suspicion, workplace incidents, and return-to-duty requirements.
At our Mobile facility, certified breath alcohol technicians follow applicable procedures under 49 CFR Part 40, the federal regulation governing Department of Transportation workplace testing. We serve employers, government agencies, and commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders sent by an employer or designated representative.

DOT Alcohol Testing for Routine & Time-Sensitive Needs
When arranging a test, employers should identify the applicable Department of Transportation agency, testing reason, designated employer representative, and required paperwork.
Our DOT alcohol testing services include:
- Post-Accident Alcohol Testing: Testing after a qualifying incident within the applicable agency’s testing windows.
- Random Drug or Alcohol Testing: Testing initiated through an employer’s compliant random selection program.
- Reasonable Suspicion Testing: Testing requested after an authorized supervisor makes and documents the required observations.
- Return-to-Duty Testing: Testing completed as part of the federally regulated process before an employee resumes safety-sensitive duties.
- Pre-Employment and Follow-Up Testing: Alcohol testing when required by the relevant agency rules or an established follow-up plan.
Federal testing differs from non-DOT workplace alcohol screening. Federal rules govern technician qualifications, approved devices, employee privacy, forms, testing steps, and result reporting.
Certified Technicians & Required DOT Documentation
Our certified breath alcohol technicians verify the employee’s identity and employer information, record the testing reason, complete the required documentation, and report results to the designated employer representative or another authorized contact.
We provide the three-part breath alcohol testing form required for DOT testing and use individually-wrapped mouth blow tubes. Across the FastestLabs brand, testing may use federally-approved Lifeloc Phoenix 6.0 portable breath alcohol testing equipment, which supports rapid reporting.
What to Expect During a DOT Alcohol Test
A Breath Alcohol Technician operates an evidential breath testing device and performs DOT screening and confirmation procedures. A Screening Test Technician may conduct the initial test with an approved alcohol screening device.
The testing process generally includes:
- Verifying the employee’s identity and employer-provided information.
- Explaining the procedure and completing the Federal Alcohol Testing Form.
- Conducting the initial alcohol screening test.
- Completing the required waiting period and confirmation steps if the result reaches the DOT confirmation threshold.
- Documenting and reporting the result to the employer’s authorized contact.
We provide appropriate visual and aural privacy throughout the test and strive to keep facility wait times under five minutes.
Facility & Mobile Testing Options in Mobile
Facility testing may suit an individual driver or a small group. FastestLabs also offers same-day appointments and mobile, on-site testing options at the brand level for employers coordinating multiple employees or responding to an incident.
For on-site service, provide the testing circumstance, number of employees, preferred timing, site conditions, and required documentation. We can confirm availability and determine whether facility or mobile testing best fits the request.
