Don starts by explaining his background as a military veteran, particularly one who had sincere interested in running his own business upon returning to civilian life.
Don’s 3 tips for veterans in choosing the best franchise include the following:
- Do your research and choose a business you take interest in. Don suggests you follow your passion, training, and expertise. It is also important you take advantage of any resources available to veterans, such as the U.S. Small Business Administration, which has partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Defense, which offers a national entrepreneurship training program.
- Plan ahead, regardless of which stage of life you are in. It’s never too early to start.
